Proud to be Green

Here at Marston, we believe that if everyone does a little towards saving the planet, the overall collective effect will be to arrest the march towards global warming. Greater information and the provision of ever improving green services and facilities all help to change our behaviour and move us towards a more conservational way of life

Our approach to these green issues has prompted us to become part of the Green Tourism Business Scheme . This is specifically for all tourism related businesses in the country and provides expertise and advice on how we can become even more environmentally aware. We have been assessed and have been given a SILVER award with which we are very pleased. This is only the initial part of the process and the agreed action plan will aid us to improve our impact. In Dorset, you will find a wealth of cultural and natural awe-inspiring attractions which all need protection in order that future generations can also enjoy these wonderful features: Marston Holiday Flats has been endorsed by the Jurassic Coast as a Quality Business gaining recognition for our business planning and responsibility to the natural environment. We are also working with the Jurassic Coast Trust setting up a voluntary visitor payback scheme where all donated money will be matched by us and then put towards the current projects run by the trust. More information can be seen by clicking the link.

We are also Friends of Durlston Country Park. A fantastic resource on our doorstep where the Castle is currently being renovated and all things natural can be seen. Newsletters and event listings can be viewed at their website where you will also find details on the renovation programme – hopefully being completed by 2010- and the daily walks and talks by the knowledgeable park rangers.
